MikroTik ISP Billing Software
XIMS connects to MikroTik routers over the native API for direct, real-time control of PPPoE, hotspot, queue trees, simple queues, firewall and DHCP — alongside billing, CRM and GPON/EPON OLT management on the same platform. No middleware, no .rsc scripts, no separate scheduler.
One platform for MikroTik and everything else your ISP runs
Many ISPs run MikroTik for wireless or PPPoE concentration alongside GPON OLTs for fiber, plus a billing system, plus a CRM, plus a ticketing tool. The result is operations spread across five systems that don't talk to each other. XIMS unifies it. The same record that defines the customer creates the MikroTik user, configures the queue, generates the invoice, and tracks the payment.
What XIMS automates on your MikroTik
PPPoE provisioning
PPP profile creation, user creation, plan-based bandwidth assignment. Active sessions are visible in XIMS with throughput, uptime, assigned IP and accounting counters.
Hotspot & captive portal
Hotspot user-profiles, walled-garden rules, voucher batches and captive portal redirects — managed from XIMS. Used for hospitality, prepaid broadband, public Wi-Fi.
Queue management
Queue trees and simple queues created and updated automatically per plan change. Burst limits, priority classes, parent queues — defined as plan templates, applied per subscriber.
Firewall & address lists
Address list management for suspended customers, walled gardens, restricted plans. Firewall rules templated and consistent across routers.
DHCP leases
Static lease management linked to subscriber records. IP allocation, MAC binding, lease tracking — same UI as billing and CRM.
RADIUS / AAA
Built-in RADIUS server handles authentication, authorization and accounting. Works with MikroTik's hotspot, PPPoE and Wireless AAA. Real session data flows back to XIMS.
How the integration works
XIMS connects to each MikroTik router via the native API over a secure connection. AES-256-encrypted credentials are held in the platform's credential vault. Connection pooling and command queuing prevent overload during bulk operations like mass plan migrations.
- Real-time propagation: a plan change in XIMS pushes to the router in seconds. Suspensions take effect immediately.
- Bi-directional sync: RADIUS accounting flows back to XIMS — operators see live session data without logging into the router.
- Idempotent operations: if a command fails or a router is unreachable, retries are safe. State machine ensures the router and the database eventually match.
- Audit log: every command sent to every router is logged with operator, timestamp and IP. Permission gating via XIMS RBAC.
- Bulk-safe: mass changes (firmware deployment via Netinstall pre-stage, address-list migrations, plan-template updates) are rate-limited per router and chunked to prevent CPU spikes.
XIMS vs Splynx for MikroTik integration
Both XIMS and Splynx offer native MikroTik integration over the API. The choice comes down to what else the platform needs to manage:
If you run a MikroTik-only WISP and don't need OLT management or Indian-specific compliance, Splynx is well-established. If you run a mixed-technology operator (FTTH + wireless + cable TV) or need GST and UPI as first-class concerns, XIMS removes the integration burden.
Frequently asked questions
How does XIMS connect to MikroTik routers?
XIMS uses the MikroTik API directly over secure connections. There is no separate middleware, no .rsc scripts to maintain, and no flat-file synchronisation. Provisioning, plan changes, suspensions and re-activations propagate to the router in real time.
Does XIMS support MikroTik PPPoE billing?
Yes. PPPoE profile creation, user creation, plan-based bandwidth assignment, and session monitoring are all handled natively. Active sessions are visible in the XIMS dashboard with throughput, uptime and IP.
Can XIMS manage MikroTik hotspot and captive portal?
Yes. MikroTik hotspot user-profiles, walled-garden rules, voucher batches and captive portals are managed from XIMS. Suitable for hospitality, public Wi-Fi and prepaid broadband deployments.
How does XIMS compare to Splynx for MikroTik integration?
Both XIMS and Splynx offer native MikroTik integration. XIMS additionally integrates GPON/EPON OLT management on the same platform — important for operators running fiber and MikroTik together. Splynx is strongest in standalone WISP / MikroTik-only deployments; XIMS is strongest in mixed-technology operators.
Direct API control. No middleware.
PPPoE, hotspot, queue trees, simple queues, firewall and DHCP — driven straight from the operator console alongside billing, CRM and OLTs.
